Born and raised in Walla Walla, WA. I've been an animal lover from birth! I grew up with pekingese dogs and birds. I always knew I wanted to do something with animals, I just didn't know what! As a child I always enjoyed bathing the dogs, and at one point I recall my Aunt Cherie telling me I was going to be a dog groomer! I had no idea what that was at the time, and thought nothing of it. Moving right along to 18 years old, I picked up a job at Animal Clinic of Walla Walla, doing kennels and assisting vets and techs. Perfect way for me to get my foot in the door of "the animal world" I thought. After a couple years, my first daughter, Baylie, came along! I stepped away from ACWW and pursued other endeavors. Two more years passed and then my second daughter, Aubrey, made her debut! A wonderful opportunity to work and live at a horse boarding facility presented itself at that time, and I couldn't say no! I had always DREAMED of riding and owning horses, but growing up not so wealthy in the city prevented that. The next 5 years played out well, with me raising the girls and working at the farm and my husband, Aaron, growing his construction company. I was learning how to ride during this time as well, and managed to buy our first horse! A dream come true!! Meanwhile, the owners of the farm decided to sell the property, which meant we were losing our apartment and my job when sold. We decided to go for it and bought our first home. It was then that I saw a position open up at Animal Clinic East grooming center for a bather. Having known the groomers from ACWW, I knew I had this in the bag! I applied, was hired, and spent the next 2 years bathing/assisting the groomers. About a year in, I was asked if I wanted to learn to groom, of course I said, "YES!" and the rest is history! After 11 years of absorbing all I could from them, I am so happy to be able to continue to grow in my career and learn even more while running my own shop. Welcome to Divine K9 Groom Studio! Over the years, I have had several dogs. Our current pack consists of Dexter the mini poodle and Bruno the min pin/chihuahua cross, two grumpy old men living out their last days of retirement. Ginger is a spry 3 year old German Shepherd/Lab/Husky that Baylie rescued in Alaska, and last but certainly not least, is Denali, Aubrey's new MAS puppy. Sometimes she's a honey and sometimes a monster but we all love her! We also have Riot the cat, Three horses; Star, Blondie, and River, a few hens, a rooster, 2 ferrets, 2 bunnies, several fish and a partridge in a pear tree!
